AMAZING day for me, not only my first silver coin, but my SECOND, too -- BIG ones...

I am still in shock. I have been working HARD trying to find my first silver coin; so far this year I had found two .925 rings, and a decorative sterling spoon, but no silver coins (and my ratio is WAAAY off -- I have about a dozen and a half wheats, but no silvers!) That's a big part of why I got the new SE Pro...to help in that regard. I have had it for two weeks, and been out hunting about five or six times, and I'm really starting to get a good feel for it; I have averaged about a wheat per hunt with it, and one of those two silver rings, but up until today, no silver coins. However, this morning, I went out hunting with a friend, and the drought ended! Early on, I found another small silver ring; it had that nice, high "warble;" I thought I had a silver dime. Can't complain though -- second silver ring with the SE in less than a week.

Then, this afternoon -- I hit a REALLY solid 00-30 signal. Sounded great, but I figured I was being fooled by yet ANOTHER one of those smashed, aluminum screw caps off of a wine bottle or 40 oz. beer bottle. Dug a 6" plug, and under a thin layer of dirt at the bottom of the hole, I saw her -- STANDING LIBERTY HALF, 1920! :surprised: I about fell over! No WAY did I ever expect that for my first silver coin!!

But, that's not it...about 45 minutes later, in a different portion of the area, I hit a '13 wheat...and then a couple minutes later, about 5 feet away -- another very strong silver-sounding signal, 00-28. I thought it was a silver dime; called my friend over with his E-trac, and he thought so too. But, it wasn't. Dug a plug, and lifted it out; in the loose dirt that fell from the bottom of the 5-ish inch plug, I found a nice partner for the lady I found earlier -- a FRANKLIN HALF, 1960! :yikes: Two silver halves in one day, for my first two silver coins? I am stunned! I could never have imagined a day like that -- and a silver ring to boot, along with a handful of wheats! Thanks to my hunting buddies who find great spots, and also for them getting me turned on to the Explorer/E-Trac machines. I'm learning to love this SE Pro!

I'll get some pictures of the ring and the two halves up soon...

Thanks for listening to my story!

Congrats ! That is truly an outstanding day !!

Thats awesome Steve. I L@@K forward to the pics,

Id say that's a pretty sweet way to break into the silver category.....TWICE:clapping:

Bryce --

I owe you a big thanks as well -- I have read so much of your stuff on this forum, and so much of it is in my mind, part of my thoughts, as I'm hunting and filtering through the information that the machine is giving me. You may not have known, it, but in a way, you were helping me find those silvers today! :)

I got to hear the "silver warble!" :)

Thanks!!

Steve

The ice is broken and more silver will show in your plugs. Congratulations on your spectacular ice breaker!

That's called shattering the ice! Congrats and looking forward to the pics.

Way to go sgoss66. You will never forget those two finds.

Thanks everyone! I can't describe the feeling of seeing that Walker staring back at me. I had dug SO many targets in the past that I thought HAD to be silver, that I was expecting this to be another smashed aluminum cap. I was NOT prepared for what I saw in that hole! I just sat there for a good five minutes, in shock, looking at that hole with that big silver sitting in it! And then, to find a SECOND half?

Dave, you are right. I will never forget those two finds. One of those things that gets etched in your memory!

Thank you all for sharing my excitement!

Steve

Great going Steve ,i to found a 1920 half 10 minutes into my 1st hunt with my new
se pro -i was pumped as i know you were to,havent gotten used to the sounds the pro makes
good enough to know them yet
Curt-- OKLA CITY ,OK.

Hey Curt --

I see you are in OKC -- if you want to head out on a hunt sometime, we can find a spot that might hold some potential and compare targets. If you are new to your machine (as I am), it's a great way to learn, checking out each others potentially good targets while still in the ground...
