Im more of a metal detectorist but way before I used to hunt (and still do when in Cornwall ) Ameathysts and other similar crystals but now most of the palces have either dried up or are out of bounds :(.Anyone in Uk no of any hot spots that might throw up some more?.I was told Bodmin moor and I have found a very small piece there and other nice crystals but were few and far between.Must have walked 10 miles one suumers day(was lovely apart from the insect bite!! have to be careful as there are ticks there!!).So anyone know of any cool places to find them other than Cornwall?.I live in oxfordshire and Ive found a little in old quarries but no ameathysts and its very grubby looking crystal :( Happy hunting guys and girls :)
