...in my 1st marriage,in 1988; my ex and the kids and me decided we were goin to Disney World in Orlando for 2 weeks.We drove from Michigan,took our time gettin there.My wife had relations in Albany,Georgia,so we drove thru Tennessee to get there.BEE-YOOTIFUL state-except for one incident when we stopped at a small country store in that state.When we pulled in,the people running the store could see from our license plate we were from Michigan,and when we walked in the door,I said "HELLO,FOLKS!!" in my friendliest voice.The woman there was SO nice to us-The MAN runnin the place was another story.I seen him look out the window when we got there and look at our license plate-He just sat behind the counter with a patch over one eye;GLARED AT ME,AND NEVER SAID A WORD to me in response-I coulda cut the NORTH VS.SOUTH tension with a knife.We left,and my ex asked me what the problem was with that man-I said"SIMPLE-THE CIVIL WAR"....she said do ya REALLY think thats what he had against us??SO,I opened the door to go back in,and my wife asked me where ya goin?I said "back in there to tell that guy dont hold what happened over 120 years ago against someone that had nothing to do with it."She said NO-DONT go back in there"-I didnt,probly good thing.The rest of the trip to the Southland EVERYBODY we met was SO NICE-Even the folks we met from Britian at the hotel we stayed in.It's sad-After 150-odd years now;there are probly still some-NORTH AND SOUTH- that harbor ill feelings toward one another......

I guess some people (those born in the South or even the North during and afterwards the war to those who have strong feelings for their part of the nation) won't let it go and still hold grudges, but this guy might have been unhappy about many things or maybe your being from the North brought back some sad memoreis! I am glad you didn't go in and add to his unhappiness! The Civil War is over....soo let bygones be bygones! We need to unite together and save the USA from BO and all those ungodly leaders leading us into Marxism and Socialism! Pray for our nation to be forgiven of sins and healed by Jehovah God! May God Bless! Amen!

Sounds to me you are the one who has the hard feelings about the civil war. Alot of people are not nice people no matter where we go , it is not a north south thing it is a individual thing. I never try to figure why they are not I just act like Christian and be nice no matter what they do. What would JESUS have done ? Maybe you should have witnessed to him instead of judge him.
