CS = Confederate States. Its a civil war belt buckle.

I found this buckle about 5" down. I thought it was a can or something. It gave a solid 80 on the meter. I am glad I did not hit it with the shovel! A $3000 find. My best ever. I had also found a Block C button with a Courtney & Hinnant backmark, Charleston, SC
