Ancient Asian artifact or cheap junk?

I found this about 2" down directly under a swing. It is quite heavy and sounds like brass. Any help with identifying would be appreciated. The writing appears Thai or another Asian script.

Letter opener that sme kid took to the playground and lost... Contemporary..
 
Hindu letter opener...(Will only open Hindu Mail)...Some wanna be thug took it to the park...
