This morning I thought that I would hit a field that I obtained permission to search last summer.Unfortunately, the landowner wasn't home and since I don't hunt without their knowledge,I rode on down the road where I spotted someone burning leaves in front of a large open field.I stopped and explained my mission(cw relics) and was granted permission, but the landowner explained" you probably won't find cw relics, but during wwII soldiers from camp Forrest used this area for training maneuvers and this field was covered with foxholes".He was right. It was heavily littered with k-ration cans, lots of large iron and melted brass.I did manage to dig an american legion vehicle badge and a gas buddy brass fuel nozzle. So now I enter a whole new era of detecting!DBULL
