To all CTX swingers...

I have been using the CTX now for about a couple years and being a research geek, I thought I had figured it out and had become a step above novice in its operation. The CTX is awesome (my honest opinion).

That being said, a couple weeks ago I was sitting and surfing the internet and kept coming across comments regarding the new book written by Andy S for the CTX 3030. I honestly thought it would be a waste of money, but, for $20, what the heck, I'll order it. I've now read it through and gone back over it again and I have to say WOW! My intention is not to sell books for Andy S, but seriously I learned a great deal of information even after reading and watching everything Minelab has put out!! I would recommend to anyone who has not purchased a CTX3030 yet to read this book. Also, highly recommended to anyone who already has one.

Again, this is not to sell books for Andy S,... I've never met the guy!! However this book is a must read.

I agree entirely. It points out errors in the Minelab Manual and you will learn how to tweak the settings to get the results! It was the best $ I ever spent. Now I am the one digging the deep targets at the beach and finding silver at places that have been gone over many times. Highly recommend buying this book.

Try taking the CTX boot camp, that will REALLY open your eyes!

I just bought a barely used (2 weeks old) CTX that comes with the book. Did Andy write two books for the CTX or just one? You mentioned "new" book so I wanted to clarify. I'm so excited! I've had the etrac for about 6 months but it was just too heavy on my arm. It had me switching hands every 5 minutes it seemed like. Excited to be a part of the club.

Just one book; its new, only a few months old.
And as Joe said, the class is a superb compliment to the book. Go to one if Andy conducts one near you.

Does he list where his classes will be on his website, or how would I find them? I'm in St. Louis and would love to attend one. I'm very hands-on when it comes to learning.

Welcome...
Here is the class schedule http://minelabfbsbootcamp.com/6.html

Hello everyone,

we just attended the bootcamp in Portage, IN this past weekend (we were the 3 canadians in the class - first ones ever to attend) and we would recommend this class to everyone with the eTrac or CTX, forget the manual, I read it from cover to cover and walk away from it lost.....the bootcamp will put a bright light on some the issues and settings I was using wrong and did not even know why I made some of the changes (maybe internet said so??)
Youtube is great but the same pattern which helped the guy to find huge gold rings and ton of silver coins WILL NOT WORK everywhere and for everyone, Andy is a great speaker and teacher if you will, you can ask anything and anytime, he will explain all the details of the settings untill its clear. His ctx book is also a must to have on hand!!!
I would recommend this bootcamp to everybody who owns eTrac or the CTX or is even thinking of buying one as Andy has loaners you can try and use in the in field lesson to help you to make the right decision before buying one.
We are going to put our new skills to the test in the next few weeks to compare the finds with the correct settings and see the improvement (I hope and pray)

GREAT WORK ANDY AND CHARLENE!!!! AND HAPPY HUNTING EVERYONE!!!

I see there are more dates in the works. Hopefully STL makes the short list.

Left coast?
