First nice day in awhile so I decided to head to one of my favorite sites. Ive found lots of things there and usually older type stuff. Found about 65 clad coins(1 70 percent silver). A couple of graduation charms, 1 token that I have to research(stamped 1938-1988.) 1 US dollar coin, I think an part of an eye glass frame(gold?) 1 tag that I think is from an apple or pair company from medford. 1 nice silver necklace & heart locket(stamped 1921) AND managed to find a decent 14kt & ruby/diamond ring. A year ago or so....I probably wouldnt have dug this because of the numbers but the signal was good at about 4 inches down. It came up 08-08 and I dont really ever get numbers like that and it locked on. Usually when it locks on and the numbers are out of the tab range...its usually something good. When I dug it up....I rescanned it....it came up 12-08. The soil and/or mineralization plays tricks on the numbers. I learned something from this one!

Thanks! Gold is always a good thing.....I really have no clue on how old the ring is....there is no engraving but there are some extra manufactuers marks inside so maybe I can figure out something from that....the area of this site has always bought me older & unusual older types of jewelry so I think this is no exception. I think maybe they had fairs or something like that many , many years ago and thats why it is different from the rest of the site. In always in the same area about 100 foot radius on about a 7 acre site.

nice finds. If i may ask i presume the tone was low on the gold? Thanks charlie

Very nice! Thanks for the pictures.

Neb, Thanks again!

Charlie, Yes, the gold was a mellow tone similar to a nickel but maybe a bit lower. Gold usually is always a mellow low tone...there are exceptions but normally this is the case. If you get used to silver tones only ...you will walk right over it. Once you get used to both....you should do well!

which extra manufacturer's marks?

There are sometimes manufacturers marks that give clue to age or where made etc etc....there is in this case....I have to do some research and identify the mark....as what it is. Maybe good info...we will see.
