Another delightful Sun afternoon school yard hunt.

Took the Omega back to the school yard that I got the silver chain and ring off of last Sun and within the first 10 minutes, with a policeman parked a few feet away, got another nice 925 silver ring. It came from about 2' away from the edge of a sidewalk and read as a silver quarter. It came in at 5.8 grams. It is nice to have one of or cities "finest" covering your back. He waved as he departed about 15 minutes later. Once again I ventured out away from the school buildings and along with a few more pieces of clad, cents and a fresh 7 nickel coin spill, I recover 2 wheat cents and a 1971 Canadian cent. The wheats are a 47d and 52d and were in the 4 and 5" depth range. Although the school only dates back to the early 80's, guess I am really going to have to work this site as I have dug 4 or 5 wheaties from it as well as 1 silver Rosie and a buffalo nickel. We are at the point of starting to need some rain. Everything has missed us of late. Thankfully that applies to the tornado's. Hope all had a great weekend. Had on the 5" coil running 80 sen (until I hit the deeper wheats) and 99 sen near the end of the hunt and d4 tones, 1 disc and a g/b of 67. HH jim tn

Thats a great ring! Love it when they hit as a Q. Lotsa coins there Jim...Interesting site...must have been some other goings on there before the school was built? I hit a few totlots in the dangerous part of town, usually very early am, and some only when there is a cop parked there. Ya just gotta pay attention as to when they leave! Its supposed to warm up into the high 40's here this week, all the snow will melt, and I'll be giving it a go. nice work!

super find on the ring! jim!
plenty of "mass" there! just sayin'
yes! generally cops will give ya a quick look, and if you are
doin' the "right thing" (diggin' proper) they give ya a "pass",and disappear
that's been my experience anyway! chances are, the older stuff
was brought in with the fill when the school was built.

(h.h.!)
