Blazer, it's probably off an alien space craft. Mine will occasionally do the same. There's really a lot of strange thins about my Deus.

By chance was the target faint, at the edge of detection for the mode and soil? If so it might not have been able to trigger reading.
I routinely have hits that register a good repeatable vdi, but dont trigger any signal strength on the horshoe. If they sound good i dig, as they mostly are not iron. If hear iron grunting in one direction I pass.
