Another Gold Bug SE/Pro/G2 question...

I get the impression from some things I've read that, while not quite as deep as an F75/T2, the Gold Bug SE or Pro, or G2, may do a better job of IDing targets at depth, as compared to an F75 or T2 (not an LTD or SE in boost mode, just using standard modes).

Can anyone confirm or deny this, especially anyone who has used both? I understand that in certain soil types, and F75 or T2 (or F70), coins beyond 6-7" begin to ID as iron (especially dimes). However, it seems from some comments that a Bug SE or Pro or G2 may ID these targets better at depth?

The F75 will ID coins well past the 6-7" mark here in OK. I proved that to myself yesterday. I think the G2/GB PRO might lock a "bit" better on coins but the F75 really locks hard on coins too. F75/t2 is definitely deeper if depth is your thing. Always always always dig everything with a decent signal to find the things others miss.

Watch the confidence meter on your F70. Great way to decide to dig or not. There is no perfect machine. They all have + and - to them.

Thanks for the great info, Bart. Good to hear about our soil, too -- and the ID numbers. I haven't found any deep silver yet, so I'm glad to hear our soil may not be as bad as some others (in terms of throwing off the deeper IDs).
