Another great day with the Deus

It has been quite a while since I've had a 3 ring day. Did the tot lot shuffle and pulled lots of coins but also 3 rings that had obviously been there for some time. Also found my smallest sequin yet. Had it not been gold colored I'd probably never had been able to see it. The Deus is amazingly sensitive. I was using the factory Deus Fast and digging the high hits between all the low iron grunts. Found 2 10K gold rings and one old looking wire ring. What was neat is this is the second 10K Mickey Mouse ring I've found at this tot lot.

Nice, was the Deus fast program right out of the box or did you alter it? Great job!

Some nice finds,i only use Deus Fast on my roman and saxon sites,the only alteration i do is reduce the freq down to 12Khz and that is all i do,i do have a controller but never use it,i carry it in the 4x4 for any possible major setting alterations.But as its a tonal machine and more reliable that way i dont use the screen,its a smashing machine too use.The screen in my mind is a 2nd reference tool and experianced user's in theory only need the headphones after the initial setup has been done.

Also use the WS5 full cup headphones,although the WS4 are the most popular option and very very good,i dont really want to miss those all important deep feint sounds,i am not knocking the screen or if anyone uses it,but its not for me.

Once setup and you have found your settings that work for you and your type/style of detecting and then saved,its basically a switch on and go detector,with of course fine tweaking can be done on site.

nice findes. i get mine this week ….. got lots of learning to do … but here in san diego this is a all year gig ….. going to try it at the dessert this season GOLD …. got the buggy ready yesterday the yah. 400 ready tonight … as soon as i get a gold bug 2 to go with the deus i'm ready wouldn't want the deus to be lonely …. and we'll see how it stacks up to the gold bug 2 ….. nice rings three in one day i've only done that one time at the beach…..and the v3i i got from u is running strong ...

Great job SW, I'm always amazed at the finds made at tot lots.
With the exception of clad and occasional junk jewelry, I simply have zero luck in them.

I think it has to do with our large immigrant population. We have 2 beef packing plants so we also have a very large immigrant population. In fact, Hispanic is the majority population now. Those kids love to wear the bling and they lose a lot.

I've bought all my top of the line detectors with gold I've found from tot lots.

Wow great day Southwind.....

And I also focus on the tonal aspects of the Deus but
have found "tweaking" as conditions change invaluable, and wouldn't
be without the remote to make those fine tuning adjustments "on the fly"
or having an "altered sister program" as a double check on iffy targets
as I get more and more comfortable with this awesome little machine.

Though to be quite honest I don't think I have ever used
one of the factory preset programs....
I am enchanted with being able to hear the amount of iron/trash and know what the machine is
up against in picking through it... thus allowing me to tweak reactivity, sensitivity, or even
frequency settings to accomodate changing ground/trash conditions accordingly.....
That is the strength of the Deus.... IMHO
