Another ground balance question

Calif_quake

New member
I hate to ask another ground balance question but since I am a newbie with this Vaquero I need to be sure. This is the second time I had a chance to play with this Vaquero and today we went to a local park. I am finding that in more instances than not, that in order to get any sort of reasonable balance I have to turn the balance knob counter clockwise past the minus mark to to about the six oclock position. I check the area and make sure its clean and pump the coil at a steady pace. I cannot say it is always necessary but it happens frequently enough to feel I need to address it here..Is this normal?.

in my mind i feel you shouldnt have to turn it counterclockwise past the minus mark ( or clockwise past the positive mark) but what do I know...i'm a newbie:))

I have a brand new vaquero also. I lower it and raise it real slow when ground balancing.

The ground balance knob is connected to a 3.75 turn potentiometer. There are no stops on the potentiometer. Once it hits an end, there may be a little bit more drag on the knob. So if you go past the minus or the plus mark, is not relevant. Adjust it in the direction needed to bring the tone in the threshold to be steady when pumping the coil. If the threshold raises or lowers as the coil is moved towards the ground or away from the ground, some adjustment is needed.

Hope that helps.
Cheers,
tvr
