Another hidden stamp

On the gold ear ring I dug yesterday there was no obvious gold stamp on the body at all.

However, under a magnifier I saw thew maker's mark,14K and Israel stamped on the pin. I thought "why didn't they just put it on the body of the ring"? Then my wife told me that in order to keep the weight down and still look big they made it tubular. And they couldn't stamp the tube or it would collapse. How obvious, once one knows this.

So check them all for stamps, steve in so az

I had a "junk" silver earring set aside with the rest of the junk. I was going through some stuff and saw what looked like a scratch on the post. Looked at it under magnification and saw, to my surprise, .925. Go figure.
