Spent an hour or so this evening at an old house on the corner of my property. Well after reading about iron masking targets and such I decided to dig everything and came to a conclusion. The people that lived in that house had no money and for fun they threw nails at each other. I spent an hour in a spot not big as a kitchen table and got a double hand full of nails and other stuff. I found a folded up piece of iron about the size of 2 quarters that started making me think my machine had went nutz. I got a beep. Not loud but hearable and repeatable. I dug and dug and cussed and dug scatched my head ,mumbled a little then dug some more and finally located the P.O.S. in the bottom of the hole. Now as I said it was about the size of 2 quaters so not really small and I came back to the house and got my tape line, This thing was 21 inches deep , the ground was damp which may have helped the halo affect . This ex coil is a deep seeking coil. I was running relic mode, 0 disc trigger forward ground on track threshold silent (about 9 o'clock) and had the gein on 9. Also I marked that nickel I have buried at 7 inches and went back with the stock coil and it can't hit it. The nickel has not been burried quite a year. Now I can take the 14 inch coil and get a decent beep with the gain at 8. So now all of you out there who won't use these "after market coils" do us a favor. Please post the locations of the sites where you have found old coins with the stock and 6x9 DD coil so we go go get them real old coins Just picking guys But from what I am seeing by using them and from what I am reading these aftermarket coils are THE DEEPEST available for the MXT til someone comes out with another one.
