Another interesting site for maybe research..

try using /census for the index of / when searching. I actually used /1910 (census is like every 10 years).

I came up with this site:

http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/mi/

(maybe changing the /mi/ to your own state may provide a similar match closer to where you live.

The provides a lot of info about who was living in certain counties, what their occupation was, the men were usually farmers or laborers in this area, the wives were "keeping house" and the children were either 'at home' or 'attending school'.

Interesting to me anyway.
