I took another trip today to the area I've been detecting the last two weeks. I had to visit several schoolhouse fields before I found one that was huntable and I could get permission. Sometimes if the field was planted in corn instead of beans, it can be "somewhat" unhuntable. The field that I was able to get permission to hunt had some areas of corn stalks still standing from last falls harvest ,but for the most part I was still able to detect the corner area that was shown on the 1888 map. Finding bricks and glass scattered around the site was a good indication that the school had indeed been there in the past. I had the F75 set at "O" Disc and DE Process while I hunted in 2F Tones. There were not a lot of coins in this school site and I feel that it may have been hunted in the past. The good news was that two out of the four coin finds were silver. The soil is getting very dry now and the two silver coins gave very good readings. The Barber Dime rang up at 72 and the Barber Quarter gave a loud 82 reading. All four coins were only about 3" deep.....Thanks for looking
