Took the Vista to a sports field just around the corner, have never found much there but a lot of junk.
I hunted in three modes just to see what things sound like.
Run in two tone, check the signal in all metal, then switch to disc. If it sounded good in disc I dug to verify the target.
After awhile dropped the disc way down to see what the other signals might be and dug them. Dug a lot of the signals in 2 tone
to see what they were and to see if disc was missing good targets due to any masking.
Did find I can turn down the disc below half and miss alot of foil and canslaw, which was nice.
The Gold is deep, with the Super 6 surprises you. Turned down the sens to around 30% which seems about right for park with junk.
There was some probably iron junk that sounded good, dug 8", still sounded coin like, couldn't find it. Raised the coil about 4-5" off the ground and the target still sounded good.
Gave up. I can see that the Gold is a killer machine for woods and relic hunting..................
Quit hunting after 1 1/2 hours, too hot and just don't have the energy yet to hunt longer in that type of weather.
Besides the trash I found, pulled out several bottle caps, pulltabs, foil, can opener, a nickel and a penny.
Saturday is our club's seeded beach sand hunt, the Gold is going to be finding me some treasure, I'm sure.
By the way, the Gold handled this trashy park nicely, no complaints.
