Another token and more silver!

Howdy,

Well, I managed to get a hunt in this afternoon for awhile. Only had a couple hours, so I tried to make the most of it. Stayed with the 8x6 SEF on for this hunt, and just went looking for high tone chirps.

I must say though, vintage whisky screw caps are the bane of my existence! They sound so good at depth AND when rotating the coil. Oh well. They do read a bit different, but so do many things at depth.

Anyway, I found a new reason to use a rain cover - sweat. Yeah, it was hot and muggy today, and I was just dripping. I would have welcomed a bit of rain actually.

No matter though, the SE still rang out on a few goodies. Managed four Wheats, two Mercs, and a neat old token. And still have more ground to cover.

Nice finds, especially that 1920 D Merc - it's really sweet. That token is neat too - one of these days there will be a book out on Minn. trade tokens. HH

Great silver... but that token is sweet. The nice thing about tokens are that there are a ton of them out there... even the states produced them. I have a book on the Indiana ones but its like 1980's. I like trying to run down the history of them.... its interesting what you find out.

Not a bad couple hours at all, DirtFlipper!!

Love finding tokens like that!! Great Find!!

Thanks, all. This is the third MN token this season, which is highly unusual (and pretty darn lucky I think).

I just drop silver into a little film container with cotton balls, and rinse them off when home. Those little 'hairs' on the dirt are from the cotton.

It's only Tuesday, and I'm already having silver withdrawal...

A good couple of hours and some nice coins.
