Any Australian Explorer Users out there???

Andy Sabisch

Active member
Was looking to find any Explorer users based in "the land down under" . . . . . . . . working on a new book and wanted to get in touch with some Australian hunters for a few areas . . . .

Thanks in advance

Andy Sabisch

G'Day Andy, I live about 100 klms north of Sydney. I use an Explorer SE with a 15" WOT and an X-1 Probe, Traded up from a sovereign Elite when the SE was released, about 21 months ago.

Good luck with the book Andy. I live 400kms north west of Sydney, but I swing an XS which won't be of much use to you.

Andy, you should read Jeff Foster's "Digging Deeper With The DFX" Now that's a book written by someone who knows the detector he is writing about, not just an expanded version of the manual that came with the detector but a genuine go to Bible by a man who possessed knowledge that would take most of us 10 years to acquire with rigorous, applied effort. I wish someone had that kind of knowledge with the Explorer's and would write a similar book. Now that's a book I would like to read:thumbup:. Let us know if you find him.

You're just kidding around, aren't you?.

Regardless , I'm pretty sure Andy's got a good sense of humor and is having a laugh about what you've said.
If anyone knows the Explorer, you can bet Andy does.

I wouldn't have worded the post so harshly, but I would have to agree with digitrich's point about it reading like an expanded manual. That's how it came across to me a well. Due to the new technology that the Explorer presented when it was first released, it would be easy to be side tracked by what you can do with those features as opposed to sharing some of the little tricks that we share on the forum with each other that helps us to be better users. I'm sure that Andy will incorporate those tips as well in the new book.
