Hi. Any beach hunters here besides me?
BTW, my new toy came in today. :hot:
Wow! It only took like 2 or 3 days to get here!!
Now I'm just waiting for my new wireless headset
To arrive. And my new kewl shovel.
Can't wait to see my new shovel.
Supposed to be as light as two and a half loaves of bread!
The instruction booklet for the 705 is kind of overwhelming, huh?
Yikes! Good thing I have a PhD in electrical engineering! :pinnochio
I cant believe Kellyco can send me all this junk,
And not include 4 AA batteries!
Regarding the surprise package, I thought the
Pocket knife and the Spanish coin diploma was the best thing.
I can go shopping for some new batteries while I'm waiting
On my other items to arrive.
Happy hunting! Stay cool. Kev

Beach hunt 3 to 4 days a week with the 705/ HF Elliptical for the past 5 years............. do very well on jewelry and clad.

Be careful with the salt spray that is in the air, be sure to use environmental cover on the controls or it will end up with corrosion on the motherboard...

Thanks Treasure hunter. I know! One time I met a guy who hunted for gold jewerly in the surf with Minelabs.
He told me to cover my control box because he had already gone thru like three Minelabs due to salt corrosion.
His Minelab looked like a loaf of bread, all wrapped up in plastic.
I dont hunt in the surf or in salt spray. But I will just put a plastic sandwich bag over the control box if I have any concerns.
Thanks again, happy hunting. Kev

I hunt beaches, Dry sand, Wet sand, But i love hunting the surf and water.:twodetecting:

HI, No. I use a Tesoro Sand shark for surf and dry sand. Mostly on dry sand i use a White's coin master. 505 i use for everything else. Compadre I use in tight places and tot lot's. Love them all.:detecting:

My 705 7.5 stock elliptical is nuts in wet sand! How do you do it? So I can actually use my 705 in wet sand!? Thought I needed a PI

Try it is the best answer. Beaches vary. The X-Terra has alot of adjustability so try lowering sens, raising disc, whatever, just see what performance you can get from it. ALso keep the coil from touching the wet sand helps. Try tracking versus not tracking.
I haven't taken my latest 705 to the ocean yet but will in time. While I suspect it wont give great performance it might give good enough for as often as you go.
