Any experienced F70 users??

PulltabPirate

I've been looking at a LOT of units to upgrade to (From my XLT) & the F70 that comes with THREE Coils looks like a possibility? Can anyone tell me their experiences with this machine and maybe how it compares Depth & separation wise with the F75, T2 or others. (Or Xlt for that matter!) I MAINLY look for Silver at old house sites, Older schools, churches, parks etc... & Trash is ALWAYS an issue! I need DEPTH and Target Separation! Any advice would be appreciated!

Thats a tough question...I swing the F70, but have no experience with any of the other models you mentioned, so I have no reference to base any input regarding your question on...I do hunt some pretty trashy places with mine with the 11"dd coil, and can pull a quarter from under aluminum bleachers in a stack of pulltabs. And what kind of settings are you using to find quarters under bleachers in a stack of pull tabs?

Seems like the sweet spot on the coil acts like a sniper, so you still gotta get that right over the target, sometimes you hear the "ping" briefly, and have to slow the sweep, and rescan in tight little sweeps. Gets up tight to chain link fences too. I pretty much run in Disc 15 in generally trashy locations, but you will miss some thin wire jewelry, I have NEVER found a good target that read in the 40's, and very few good targets that read in the low 50's...But silver chain bracelets seem to read in the high 50.s, just like a wire from a chain link fence does..38 on down to 20 have gotten me gold, 57 on up has got me silver and one gold. But I still dig all solid repeatables thinking maybe one day...tight coin spills and stacks can give very confusing signals, a tight quarter stack is 92,(half dollar) and a multi denomination stack can be anything! trashy areas sure wear out a fellows concentration pretty fast, so its best to hit those when you are fresh, and then just dawdle along and relax once you got a little gas money in the pouch, looking for the big score. Hope this helps, HH
