ANY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE CORTES

nomad

New member
I'm looking to buy a used one.feedback would help me out.also would like to know are the manufacturer warranties transferrable to 2nd and 3rd owners.thanks

Have a Cortes about 3 years now. Great detector. Depth and target info is always displayed on the screen in AM and Disc modes. Deadnuts pinpointing and good depth. Don't know about waranty if bought used. I like having the knobs better than pushpads. Have 2 Tesoros and 3 Fishers. Cortes is my favorite.

The warranty is not officially transferable, but if the machine is not abused Tesoro will fix it for free. I'm speaking from first hand experience. I spoke with James when my second hand Cortes wasn't working right, and he said to send it in and they would probably fix it for free. If I remember correctly he said something like "if I were a betting man I would take that bet" (meaning that there was a great chance I wouldn't get billed). They fixed it for free, and it's a helluva machine.
