Any feedback from the cache mode on the LTD's ?

I need to experiment with it more, so far with the limited tests I've done using it I haven't had any WOW moments, BUT I hear it works great in the right situations, even for coin shooting.

I've done some playing with the CL as a compliment to the BP process. Sweep speed for me to get clear readings is about 2 seconds a sweep. Slow and carefully listening. For me this has gotten another 1-2" in depth. I went back over an area that I pretty thoroughly covered in BP and tried the CL. I did pull more items at deeper levels. I find that the CL gets some getting used to as it responds slightly differently than the BP. I will say though that the BP set up properly is a coin killer! I've been finding lots of coins 6-10" deep loud and clear. Nickels even bang in loud and strong which didn't seem to work as well on the old 75.

I will continue experimenting with the LTD, because thats what its gonna take, but so far am very happy with it.

Can you please explain what your setup was that you called "properly"..Need a little help..thanks

If you check my posts on the LTD, I go through the setup that works for me. I found that in BP If I run the sensitivity up to the point where it just starts to chatter, it gets the best depth for me. If I run it too hot, depth seems to drop off. I found a walking liberty quarter @ 8". When I ran BP at disc 21 and sensitivity at 50 (which runs silent for me) It banged loud and clear. I increased the sensitivity to 70 and the chatter picked up and the coins signal softened slightly. When I ran to 99, there was alot of chatter and the quarter signal was even less. I think for my dirt if I run the LTD too hot it must rebound off the ground and cut back sensitivity. Don't know if this makes sense or not, its just what I've discovered after playing around with it alot. For my dirt sensitivity @ 50 hits coins deeply and with good strong sounds, even nickels.

I have read some other posts about trying Disc at 5, which I will do in the spring as we have snow and the ground is frozen. I've had alot of fun playing and experimenting with the LTD and I know I still have a lot to learn and thats why I keep reading these posts and picking other peoples brains.

I'm sure as time goes on I'll get better, especially around old homes with alot of nails and iron. I wil say one thing though, its a great machine and I've found more silver with it in less time than any other machine I've used.

I don't have enough time in with my LTD yet to have formed much of an opinion, but I do know it is a deep mode. The tones in the cl mode, to my old ears, anyway, don't seem to be quite as sharp and crisp as they are in the bp mode. For my kind of hunting, coins in the trash, I have determined that I like the bp mode better, though. HH jim tn
