Any good links for waterproofing endeavors?

Anyone know of some good waterproofing sites. I was seriously contemplating getting an Excalibur 1000 but I am also thinking about getting a Sovereign GT and converting it for wet sand work at the beaches. It's basically an Excal except it's not waterproof.

n/t

Why pay $1,200 when I'll hump like crazy to get it when I can pay $500 and attain the same objective. I could probably even water proof my SE for a small sum and save about $1,000. All I want to do is just do the wet sand during low tide. I just want a little more safety in case it gets splashed upon or in case I drop it in the water.

I waterproofed a Sovereign Elite a couple of years ago, it works fine. Used a pelican case box, and took the whole works in to an electrical supply house. I waited til all the work crews were taken care of before bothering the guy at the counter. He was real interested in what I was trying to do, knew what I needed for waterproof connectors, etc. We talked about the best way to mount the connectors, etc, and Ive never had a bit of trouble. HH
By the way, that saved me over $500.00 by doing the Sov, versus laying out a grand for an Excal, (which I also own, and is my main detector).

If you have both you're really able to say, "Get the Excalibur or you'll wish you had."

What did he charge you for doing this?

A few good finds and the difference in price is a moot point. Budget for a good straight shaft and a decent scoop unless you want to snorkel/fan when you hunt.

Cheers,
