Any ideas on age of this button?

I found this button at an old park and the patina looks old. Any ideas on age? The nickel is for sizing but it also rang up with an ID similar to a nickel.

It sure looks like an old flat button pre 1860s but the intricate design has me scratching my head as most ones with cool designs are engraved not embossed. .. the patina looks right though... from what i can see in pic i think it's old.. ive dug many many old flat buttons that fall in the nickle range..
