Any Infinium users at Virginia Beach? Was wondering how it performed in the wet stuff vs. the Minelab Sov./ Excal?

I think that answers that question. Heehee

HI Adam,
I am in Australia and I use both the Infinium and a Sovereign XS for my beach work.
They are two completely different machines. The Sovereign is awesome on saltwater beaches when fitted with the 15 inch Wot coil plus it has excellent discrimination.(digital and tone)
The Infinium gets better depth than my sovereign when using the 10 x 14 mono. It has basic discrimination plus a very good iron check capability.
When using the Infinium I don't think I miss many targets; My sovereign tends to miss small gold items. My Infinium will work in our highly mineralised gold fields, my Sovereign will not.
As an overall comment; Both of these detectors are great when used for the purpose for which they were built.
For the Infinium to work well on saltwater beaches a small amount of discrimination is often needed to offset the effects of the salt; I find a setting of between 2 and 3 is enough.
Cheers,
Adrian SS
