Any Info on Teknetics Greek Family?

Does anybody here have any information on the diffrence between the normal (non Greek Family) and the Greek Family metal detectors from Teknetics? If you're lucky enough to have both types please list the advantages of both types and what type you personally prefer and why you chosen it over the other type.

I'm looking to buy a Teknetics Delta 4000 with both 1/8" and 1/4" headphone jacks and the only Authorized Teknetics Retailer I can find online that has both jacks is selling the Teknetics Greek Family Delta Metal Detector. I'm going to check the reviews of the online store after I get back from hunting tonite.

I just got an Omega 8000 off ebay at a good price, has both headphone jacks. Brand new machine.. oddly enough though on the picture on the box, only one jack.. weird eh?

All the greek Teknetics have the 2 jacks now. My wife's Delya had only 1 but it was older.

Yes it is weird. I guess the box art and the pics on online stores need to be updated to show that it has 2 headphone jacks.

I noticed under the product description on Amazon.com it says the Delta requires 4 AA batteries. I started looking elsewhere because of their inaccurate product description. Although I may still buy from Amazon.com because the Delta is cheapest there.

Ask them directly to describe the particular model (Delta 4000) that you're interested in and confirm that it is current and has both headphone jacks.

The Alpha, Delta, Gamma and Omega ARE "Greek-named" models so there isn't a non-Greek and Greek, simply revised edition models with the additional dual headphone jacks.

While there are times and places where a factory preset Ground Cancel setting might work for me, most readers know that I prefer to be more in control of any detector since I like to hunt a wide variety of locations. Primarily, I am referring to operator control of the Ground Cancel (Ground balance) settings because not only do I hunt a wide range of mineralization levels, but I also like to use a variety of search coils to best suit what I am doing. Change search coils and you'll usually need to change the GC setting as well for peak performance. Those who hunt with only a "stock" coil, such as the 8" round concentric on the Alpha, Delta and Gamma, might do just fine w/o manual GC control.

For me and my needs, while I have a T[sup][size=small]2[/size][/sup] that I opt to use from time to time, my primary-use model is the Omega 8000. Why? For most sites I hunt it is very capable. The stock 10" concentric coil provides adequate site coverage in more or less open areas while the excellent 5" DD coil is a killer in the generally iron-infested locations, especially those with iron nails. The 11" DD does the job in the very wide-open, low-target sites where I might prefer a little more coverage and a touch more depth of detection.

I also like the Omega due to the handy 1-hand control of all the adjustment features, AND because it does have the dual headphone jacks. Most of the time I use my

I'm in Ventura, California right now which is close to Los Angeles and I checked out the Teknetics "Where to Buy" section and the nearest listed dealers are way North around Sacramento. After researching reviews of online retailers I'm thinking about buying from Kellycodetectors.com and try their "120% Price Guarantee". I can also buy the 8" coil cover and most likely have it shipped at the sametime with the metal detector. I may take a train North and visit the dealers that are around Sacramento so I can actually see and have the Delta 4000 in my hands when I purchase it. I'm being more cautious of online retailers these days because more of them are only interested in ripping people off. It's sad.

I just got a 8000 took it to a "hunted out" park on a local campus.Let me tell ya on 4 lunch hour hunts I dug up 3 gold rings a couple of silver pendants and over 96 coins (the oldest '26 dime).The deepest find was 10" deep that read nickel dime quarter. It yielded all three. By-By F70! Try one you'll like it.

I generally use what I consider to be some of the finest detectors currently available, and for comfort and performance, I parted with most of what I had. The Omega is simply a terrific detector.

White's MXT Pro a bit more than the original MXT, and having played with an early prototype last November I see they improved some of the functions. That said, I also like to have a model that allows me the best performance with ample user adjustments in the light-weight package and good search coil selection. The T[sup][size=small]2[/size][/sup] is a very good detector and, for many, it's quite adequate. For me, my Omega 8000 gets more use, provides me better Ground Cancelling adjustment (manual fine-tuning) than the competition, and has a lot of easily adjusted functions that work well. It was an easy way for me to go and the field results are splendid!
