Any one detecting at over 50?

David

New member
It is my birthday today as I turned 50 years old now on on Oct. 9 th. Now turning 50 are my metal detecting days about over. Is any one here still detecting at over 50 years of age?

Didn't even start until 56. My buddy I hunt with is 62. We are both retired and use our hobby to get off the couch and stay alive. Happy birthday youngster. May you have another 50 to hunt!:detecting:

56 and just started this hobby in May this year and I'm an upper extremity amputee with a knee replacement...so I hope you're not too old or I'm in trouble...lol.

Been doing it since 1970, I turned 55 this year. Plan on detecting for as long as I can..........MO

Happy Birthday David. I am 71 years young, and still swing an XS two days a week (your only a puppy)

Have a nice one.

Regards

Les.

Happy birthday David, Had my 60th on Aug 1st. Been detecting since 2004 and still loving it.
Had triple bypass May 3rd of this year, so that makes me a kid again, so I'm going strong.

Happy Birthday and Happy Hunting

Bruce

I'll be turning 50 at the end of October (the 29th) and I don't plan on quitting then.
I'm looking forward to when I retire and can go out much more often than now.

Well sonny boy, I just started about six months ago and I'll be 57 tomorrow

Happy birthday. I just started this year and I will be 59 in December, I plan on doing this for a long time.

Happy birthday David.
It's only over when the fat lady singing, is actually an angel.:detecting: Sometimes you think that they might be because they sing so well! Bottom line keep swinging that detector (hope you own a fifty!) and feel alive.

Well Dave ,all the best (you young buck).judging by all the posts you struck a good responce.
I am 59 and have only been 'tecting for 8 months, and am considering selling my boat, because I am enjoying 'tecting more than fishing and believe me that is a hard decision, had triple bypass & bowel cancer at 50yrs and havn't looked back since, always one more hole to dig. Congrats....

I turned 50 this July just gone.

I think 50 these days is like 30 used to be in our grandparents day.

Still only feel like I'm 20 in the head and the body aint too bad. Won't be giving in to a number. I plan to go till I'm 100.

Exercise will help us all get there and detecting is part of that.

A fellow I know turned 65 recently and bought a Sea Kayak as a present to himself. He paddles it around 10+ kilometres every day.

Age is a state of mind.

Cheers,

Danno:)

A Newb here, I got two days on ya, turned 50 on the 7th. I got my first detector, an X-Terra 705 about a month ago so this is just the beginning for me and I look forward to losing track of time in the field.
