I believe the current version (1.1 software) came out in 1994 and was named the Spectrum XLT. The "E Series" XLT is the same (still 1.1 software), only the name and decals changed.

The eagle spectrum c battery's the spectrum aa battery and then e series aa battery only very minor changes in spectrum and e series.Eagle spectrum early model bigger box foe c battery.I believe this is correct

The Eagle, Eagle II, Eagle II SL 90, and then Eagle Spectrum were all in larger control housings and were powered by 4-C cells.

The Spectrum XLT was introduced in the smaller 'SL' control housing and featured the drop-in 8-AA battery tray.
