Any Tesoro Deleon Users Out There?

I'm thinking about thinning my metal detector herd a little so I can give one a try. How's the depth of Deleon with the 5.75 coil?

I've never actually measured, but it's decent. I have used the 7" concentric quite a bit on my D with good depth and good results. I really like the D, but I'm using it in comparatively mild ground so the preset ground balance isn't a big issue for me. I've found that for most coin shooting, I get the best performance with the sensitivity set a bit below the max - 7-8 on the dial. I originally got mine used on a good trade when I had really wanted to try a Cortez. I'd always thought of the D as a poor little brother to the Cortez and ended up being very pleased with it. Mine does false a little with the 10X12 coil, but I seldom use that on any of my preset detectors, anyway.

Tabman, I have a DeLeon, and a 5.75" concentric coil, but have seldom used the coil on the DeLeon. When I did I was quite satisfied with it, but cant give specifics on depth etc. From memory, it was when I was digging in some trashy areas. I know I found a silver bracelet when using it, but I dont think it was very deep (it was a few years ago). These days, my 5.75 coil seldom leaves my Golden, so the DeLeon has to be content with the 8x9. Like Barber Bill, I dont usually have my sensitivity on my DeLeon above 7, and then only when I am going for deeper targets in wide open spaces. HH
