Found this bracelet partially hidden in the damp sand at the beach this morning

I didn't look very closely at it; brought it home and tried to rinse the sand off it...but after the real sand was washed off, there was still more ...and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get rid of the remaining "sand".

A detectorist friend and his wife were visiting at the time and I explained my dilemma. Don took a look at it and told me it was a magnetic hematite bracelet and that the '''sand" was actually shreds of magnetite from the beach sand.

I put the bracelet on the refrigerator door and yup!...that's what it was..

I took a much closer look and then saw the magnetic shreds.....

reminded me of a childhood game "Wooly Willy " ....for anyone old enough to remember that game.

Thanks for takin' a look
