Anybody ever use Sigma lenses?

Looking to get a Nikon D70 outfit and can save a few bucks if I get Sigma lenses over Nikon. Any thoughts?
 
I guess it depends on what range you need. I bought the kit lens (Nikon 18-70 ) which is a nice lens for the money. I also bought the Sigma 70-300 APO Super Macro II with the red ring. The one with the gray ring isn't quite as good. Here is a picture thaken with the Sinma 70-300
