I have had my Garrett pinpointer for a couple months now, and I love it.The other day I taped over the Speaker with electrician tape to make it a little more resistant to water. I go by vibration anyhow, as with my hearing being bad, I do not always hear the high pitched tone. Here is the deal. As soon as I taped over the hole, I suddenly got about 25% better depth. It's like I put a booster on it. ......What gives?????

I have tried it but I can't see how that could possibly increase depth. Intreresting observation though.

I know it sounds weird and there is no reason for it to increase depth just by putting tape on it. I don't understand, but mine was getting about 1 1/2" on a penny. Now it gets about 2" on a penny. According to Johns report, that is what it should have been getting from the get go. Anyway, I had three different brand pinpointers before I got the Garrett. When I got the ProPointer, everything else got sold. Congratulations Garrett, a Grand Slam Home Run............Now build us a Light Turn on and Go Beach Machine for under $500
