Hello all Etrac users I am interested who use on they Etracs Audio long, smooth, pitch hold, and why?and in what condition any of this Audio settings is bests? I use explorer and recently started to use audio long,on explorer xs audio 1, found its very good in iron fields. what is your experience? thanks Stasys

I prefer Pitch Hold because it holds the last tone detected, i'll often miss the initial signal but the pitch hold will get my attention and I'll go back and check it out.

Just stops me missing those really short/weak detections on the real deepies.

Note: By the manual, in "Smooth" or "Long" do not trim the end of the dectection off, your hearing more of what the etrac sees (refer manual Pg 62) and therefore, in theory, have an advantage. Where as in "Normal" and "Pitch Hold" the back part of the dectection is blanked. So really "Smooth" and "Long" should be the "Pro" setting, but I find "Smooth" a bit to much for me in trashy sites. I'll have to try "Long" again some time.

This really comes down to how you like your audio information presented...personal preference.

Good luck,
Greg

I use "pitch hold". On my machine, it does not have the THUMP at the end of weak or deep signals. I think from reading other reports that I may have something wrong with my machine. Anyway, when you get a deep signal, try the different settings before you dig and see which one you like the best.
