Anybody use the Scorpion to Sample Gold Ore?

Well, I guess you all are Coin-shooters or Nugget Shooters!
I thought this may get a response from some old timers who may have tried and/or used the technology back in the DAY.

If so how do you do it?

Select the TR Disc Mode and set to the Cal position. Then all you do is pass your ore sample across the coil at approx 5 inch away.
If the threshold goes quiet or remains unchanged then probably not much metal in the sample.
If the threshold increases then that rock is a keeper for further inspection.

Don't just wave the coil over the rocks while they are on the ground, the results will be unreliable
