Anyone but me own a GTAX 1250?

I would love to chat with someone who owns this machine. I can't find any threads where folks even talk about what this machine can and can't do. Right now mine's in the shop because I can't keep it quiet near sea salt, even with the salt eliminator on it. BTW, this is my first post. Looking forward to sharing and learning all I can about my GTAX 1250

I've got one. I think I've had it since '02 or '03. I hardly ever use it, but it is a great machine. It's the same machine as the GTP1350 or GTI 1500 without the profiling/imaging. Yeah man, that salt elimination is not gonna make it run totally smooth on the wet sand, but it does help some. One thing about that salt elimination, though, is it's gonna reduce the depth and might even knock out some gold jewelry that you would other wise get without it on. So don't use the salt elimination up in the dry sand unless you feel like you absolutely must.
Like i said, that GTAx1250 is a great machine, but I've always preffered my GTI 2500 or even Master Hunters. I love to have my true all metal mode. Goes deep and still discriminates(shows target ID).
I hope that Garrett's makes your machine run smoother. I guess they'll put in that mineral chip. If so, it will help out alot, but don't count on it purring like a kitten in the wet salt. Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

The 1250 is identical to the 1350 except for the profiling on the 1350. I have the 1350 and I love it. I have never had mine to the coast so I don't have any expirience with it in the salt water or wet sand but otherwise my 1350 is a real coin magnet. If I ever upgrade to the 2500 I don't see me ever parting with my GTP. Good luck with it. It's a very sensitive machine so you don't need to run the sens up high, I run mine about 7 most of the time.:garrett:

Many of us own 1500's and 1350's which are the 1250 with either imaging or profiling. Most detectors that aren't designed to combat salt don't work too well around it. Remember salt is a mineral.

By the way, welcome to the forum sierra echo. Sorry I overlooked welcoming you to the forum earlier. Feel free to ask for advice at any time. Good luck with your GTAx1250. Let us know how it works out. Remember to lower the sensitivity over the wet sand. Having the double "D" searchcoil helps in areas of higher mineralization. Happy Hunting!:)

Thank you so much for your input. Good to see I'm in good company with my GTAX 1250. Will tweat it like you suggested and see what happens. Great advice. One more thing...thank you for the welcome. Hope to be chatting with you guys a lot.
