11 years and a Vietnam Vet too. Honorably discharged. Given many awards and recognitions - including letters of appreciation from Army generals (Creighton Abrahms and Trogdon). Not many Air Force guys get recognition from the Army.

And after all that...the Air Force cheated me out of a retirement they promised.

Thank you so much for serving and protecting our nation and its citizens and for helping people in other nations to be free from dictators! Evil would take over if it weren't for you guys doing good in times of bad! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And God Bless you with all your and yours needs and protection! Wish I could do something special for each one of you and Pete, if I could get you your pension, I surely would, but alas I am nothing as far as the pentagon goes!!

You will have lots of rewards in Heaven and those will outshine any that you can get in this sinful world! A golden mansion in glory Jesus is preparing for you, me and all who obey, honor and glorify Him! Hope I don't have to do any cleaning it and any furniture there!

God Bless! :)

when I applied for the government job (Army Air Force Exchange Service) I was asked if I was a Veteran. I had to answer "No". According to their statement, veterans are those who got out of the military within the past 5 years. Prior to that I guess we are no longer veterans. So I salute all those non-veteran Veterans as well as saluting those who are "discharged within the past 5 years Veterans".
