Anyone else have this problem with the 11" DD coil?

Mine's the uMax version, it's light, a little too light. Even with the slightest tap to the coil, the detector falses, in any setting including any sensitivity setting. The cables are fine, just the coil itself can't handle the slightest touch.

The coil seems very hollow and light, I don't think there's much padding in there. I wonder if the falsing is because improper padding, I have dealt with different detectors, brands and coils, sometimes when there's an attempt to make light coils this happens. I have a cleansweep coil that is solid as you can get, tough, robust and good. It's heavy, but that is a good compromise, much rather prefer that.

I don't have the 11"DD so I'm not speaking from experience, but I'd give Tesoro a call just to double check as the coil may be faulty.

Is the coil made by Tesoro?

send it off to Tesoro in AZ to get fixed. They can do it, and it sounds like the internal windings aren't secure. It might also be caused by loose internal components. Time to ship it off.
