Anyone else out there using an Eldorado?

Hungarian

New member
I have been using my eldorado a lot this last week and what a joy it is to use. I have owned most of the Tesoro's and this is still my favorite out of all of them. So how many of us left are still using one?

Eldo

Had mine since last October, it's a well behaved detector. I plan on keeping it.

I had a dream last night that Tesoro came out with a new detector to rival the Eldorado. It came with 3 coils and looked like it would be Tesoro's next great machine. Then I woke up and realized that it was only a fantasy.

And like Shenandoah Digger, I also had dreams of such a newer Tesoro to come along. My dreams started long ago, after they dropped the Eldorado with the true ED-180 Disc. circuitry and basically replaced it with the Vaquero which doesn't adjust that low. Or work as well.

One of these days I'll chance upon another and let it replace my Bandido II

Maybe you didn't have a dream, maybe it is a reality. The detector with 3 coils that they are coming out with might be a great machine, unless a person has one in their hands they don't know, they might think they know but they don't. I see no reason to poke @ a company that has made us very good detectors and has given us very good service over the years.

It's all in good fun. I've owned Tesoro's probably a lot longer than most and have done my share to keep the company in business. I always get a kick out of people being defensive of a company that they absolutely have no ownership in. It's the old Ford-Chevy debate. People have probably been killed over that one. Silly as hell.

I went cherry picking at a high school with mine last night for about 45 minutes, and got my first silver ring of the year.

No ownership ya say.................. I got my baby teeth from them, and just a couple years ago my dentures . As long as ya don't mention Dodge & keep it Ford and Chevy we'll be friends :poke:. Wasn't trying to slam you Shenandoah Digger, I just feel there has been too much negative remarks on the forums about Tesoro's new detector without anything to back up the statements.

I used a Eldorado (uMax style) and really liked it a lot, but I prefer the Bandido II uMax better.

ED-165 vs ED-180????? In the real world, I don't think it really matters all that much.

My Bandido II uMax with its ED-120 handles nail laden sites very well and is easy to swing for long periods of time.

I wish White's could figure out how to make light detectors like Tesoro does. :)

Some of the White's detectors work really well, but are way too heavy and out of balance to swing for any length of time. I just sold my M6 for that very reason.

El Dorado is by far a better buy then the new/old Outlaw.

I would take it over a Bandido II any day of the week as well, only 2 detectors impressed me more

1. Any Troy detector is a better buy then almost all Tesoro's (except for #2 on list)
2. Compadre for the price and peformance (new) is unmatched IMO.
