digr, I do not have the Tejon but I do use an MXT. Several of my hunting buddies use a Tejon in their arsenal. My experience has been that the Tejon is a good relic machine able to get fairly deep under normal conditions, ie, moderate mineralized soil. Lot's of folks have good luck with it. I do like the MXT better and it offers more features compared to the Tejon. I like the visual aids such as VDI, confidence bars, and other aids the MXT has. The MXT has three programs, coin/jewellry, Relic, and Gold. It is a very good gold machine. The auto trac is nice plus you can adjust gb manually somewhat. Depth wise I think they may be pretty close but I've read of the Tejon getting 14 to 20 inches depending on the relic size. Both are good detectors but I just like the MXT better. Maybe someone can chime in on the MXT's depth. I have hit big objects down to about 12 inches. The deepest coin I have found has been about 7 to 8 inches. Good luck with your quest... TonyTX
