Anyone got a comparison report on.......

the 5X10" DD & 11" DD coils on the Omega?----What's the verdict & which one of these two coils do you like the best on this detector?----I asked that same question awhile back & it seems that (at that time), nobody had yet had a chance to try the 5X10 on the Omega.

Seems to me tabman may have the 5 X 10. I'll find out as I would like to know as well. HH jim tn

OK Jim, thanks.----Just trying to find out how it's working out on the Omega.--------Del

The 5X10 is a great coil on the Omega and it alsoworks great on the G2. It separates really well in trashy, iron infested spots. The 11" DD still has its place though and an edge on depth.

do you feel the 5 x 10 sees enough less targets then the 11" to justify having both? I know the 11" dd has a depth edge on the 10" concentric...at least in my ground. Thanks! HH jim tn

I think it's worth having both the 5 X 10 and the 11' DD. The 5 X 10 is a good compromise between the 5" DD and the 11". I love the 5" on my F75LTD, running in Boost mode, but on the Omega it just doesn't get enough depth in the places I hunt. It's hard to say that a new coil is the reason why you made a find, but I've pulled some great stuff from spots I've pounded with both the 11" and 5" using the 5 X 10.

Thanks Crosby and that "compromise" situation is what I was wondering about. Thanks again. HH jim tn

Crosby------In your use of the 5X10 DD on the Omega--do you find that coil a little better at "handling" steel bottle caps (crown caps) than the 11" DD?-----I know there is a couple of tricks in i.d.ing these buggar b.c.'s & I use 'em.---- Was just wondering if the 5X10 has an advantage of steel b.c. i.d. over the 11" in the first place?---------Thanks, Del

No, it gets fooled like most DD coils by steel bottle caps. The "tricks" work, but the concentic coil is still the winner when it comes to bottle caps.

Thanks Crosby.
