Anyone Had Problems With Their Pro Pointer ?

I've had my Garrett Pro Pointer for about 6 weeks - I really like it !
Just last week it started beeping at everything - even with no metal in site.
And yes, I did put a brand new battery in it - two times.
Just mailed it back to Garrett today - they said they will send me a brand new one as soon as they get mine.
Anyone else had problems with theirs breaking or shorting out ???

Yes, mine did the same thing. I live close enough to Garretts to take it back. The lady there said the tip of the pro pointer has some fine wires that some times break if it is dropped or sustains a blow of some type. They replace it free.....Coach

Mine did too. Sounds like it was the same problem-mine would just start going off and seemed to be able to detect from silly distances! I went in to Garrett and they swapped it out with no problems!

Likewise, although mine was an intermittent problem.

Garrett was great and they sent me a brand new one lickety split.
