]Found it in wet sand at an old beach. Looks like maybe a dresser drawer knob :shrug:

1 1/4 inches width

Those ridges in the side shot look like its for fingers to be able to turn it. So my thinking is its a top for something.. Maybe a makeup container of some sort. Just an un educated guess

optical eye piece,(well, what's left of it ) from an old transit level.

The top removal piece is a decorative covering for the missing glass lens.
