Anyone have any experience with Safari in Gold Fields?

Moving west to prospect full time, right now I have a Safari and not sure how it will perform out there. Since it is multi frequency, I would think it would do well, but have been told not too expect much. So Im wondering if anyone has tried one. I ran my second Xterra 705 Gold out there and was disappointed a few years back, it just sounded off on everything in this tailing pile, while my Gold Demon found lots of 22lr as deep as 10", wish I kept that gem. Anyway here in FL the Safari is awesome, great machine for beginner, very simple to turn on and go. Only problem I have is the ID #'s, like I have read here, they are not always accurate, I believe the 705 had better accuracy.
So any advice wold be appreciated, I have the Safari up FS/FT, but if I hear anything positive I might give it a try.

No direct experience, but the people that are serious about gold prospecting all say to get a dedicated gold machine like the GPX series or SDC. They also recommend different coils for the type of gold you are hunting at the moment (nugget, small grains, spongy, etc). I think the Safari would do well on nuggets, but wont get the depth of one of the higher priced machines.

On the good news side, a lot of people retire and buy an expensive machine to do the western US prospecting thing and rapidly find that it isn't for them. So theres probably some lightly used machines floating around out there.

I agree wiith Kin any gold prospecting Hunting , A (dedicated gold machine) is the only way to go. Hunting in Tailing pile any VLF Gold Detector, like The Lobo, Gold Bug, AT Gold, GMT would be fine. Good luck Prospecting

Thanks Rob, checked out the new Fors Gold today, looks really good, lots of positive reports on it. Picked up Lobo and a GoldMaster 4B, so I'm on the right track. Now I just need to sell some. Thanks again
