Anyone have issues with airport security over blinking coil?

Has anyone had issues with airport security with blinking coil? I'm traveling to England & don't want a bunch of hassles.

I have had no problems at all Bob. I have traveled a lot with my Deus and have never even been asked to remove it to inspect it. Airport security know exactly what a metal detector is and they see them all the time. I am sure your won't have any issues whatsoever. -Marc

Last week we have moved to Bulgaria for our MD-sort-of holiday and there was no major problem - have had 4 coils (2 for ML CTX-3030 and 2 for Deus) in my cabin luggage, airport stuff at scanner asked me to pull it out (it appeared as a circle of wires on the scanner), I've told them what is it for and they said to put it back and move on ;-)

This was a concern of mine when I first got the Deus. I've since travelled a couple times with no problems. Once it was on carry on and no notice was made.

BUT for just in case...I'd make sure to bring the detector manual and have it close to the coil.

LOL ..I also did think of the black tape but didn't do it.

Regards, Joe

Security at U K Airports don't like blinking lights in luggage, you

may have to explain exactly what it is.

Have a nice trip:thumbup:

When i travel to England i do put some black tape over the coil light on both the coils, especially if i take it as a carry on. The only issue i really have is at Heathrow Terminal 5 where they almost always insist on delaying me 20 minutes while they inspect my detector etc, some of the security staff there do seem skeptical because although they have seen many a metal detector they may never have seen one without wires . I have had no problems at all with security in the US, when i fly out of Corpus Christi they sometimes wipe it down with that bomb detector thing but they do that randomly and have done it to my laptop and other gadgets.
