Anyone have some insight on these markings?

Got this ring and can't make out the markings. Almost looks like they might be mirror image ... ???

Possibly European markings. Try a tiny bit of silver cleaner and toothbrush and see if the black cleans up, may show the markings better. There are numerous websites with fairly detailed info on markings.

Middle number looks like a mirror image 5 and not like a 2 from either side up. Will need to get some test acids. This was cleaned up with a tooth brush and tooth paste. I'd probably say silver for sure except when I run it under the Excal coil, the pitch is like a nickle, lower than a dime or quarter. The other sterling rings I have of similar size are right up there with quarters pitch wise.

White gold maybe. 😊
Possibly the jeweler lost the two and used a substitute.

Don't know. After we get back from the last trip to Maryland before we close on sale of that house I'll buy an acid test kit to cover the possibilities. My Mizar gold tester is giving inconsistent results.

Can't wait to see.
