Despite all of the storms, this has been the worst year for me & my buddies. Absolutely no gold and in some cases hardly any change.
Last week at Zuma my buddy & I had $.48 between us.
Today at Santa Monica at least there was some change (green money finally showing up). We both did about 6 bucks each in 2.5 hours.

Hi Bill,
I use to do well at Zuma a couple of years ago when I hit it on a regular basis. I've gotten into detecting mostly dirt the last year and a half. I've hit Zuma a few times this year and I was just as lucky as you. My buddy hit Zuma when they had that huge cut during one of the last storms. He got a bunch of clad and a few jewelry pieces, but I don't think he got gold. It probably won't get good until it gets hot.

Are you guys hunting IN the water or on the beaches ?? If in the water...how deep ?? What detectors are you using??
 
My buddy & use Explorer XS II's. We used to use Sovereigns, then I moved to the Excalibur. We have both found the Explorer II's to be the best machines UNLESS you want to get into the water.

Hi Bill,went out Sunday at low tide and it was absolutely horrible.Beach was FLAT FLAT FLAT.I hunted for 90 mins and called it a day.My take... one zinc cent and sore muscles.It's gotta get better come Friday. Going to save a couple bucks in gas. Last time I went to Sunset beach only pulled 37 cents, usually manage a couple bucks at Santa Monica too. Hitting parks for deep stuff now, along with clad till it gets hot.
 
You guys are making me jealous...those were my old stomping grounds !!! I went to Pali High too...Now I'm in HOT Arizona...longing for the beaches !!! <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry"> Keep the stories coming,it helps !!
