Anyone in Savannah, GA?

I'm travelling to Savannah next month, and will be there from the 4th to the 12th, visiting my brother, who just got home from his second tour in Iraq. His wife got him a Quattro as a birthday/coming home present, and he is really ready to use it. He's new to the hobby though, and doesn't really know any places out there yet. I don't either, since I've never hunted there. Are there any folks here on our forum that are local to the Savannah area that feel like hooking up to hunt somewhere? If not, I'm sure we'll find some spots, but it's always fun to meet someone from the forum too, although I haven't posted on here in quite a while.

but Georgia is a permission only state. The beaches (up to the dunes/vegitation) are quite literally the only free-access areas of the state, and Georgia isn't known for it's beaches.

I'd suggest trying to contact the "Costal Empire History Hunter's Association" at http://www.cehha.org/AboutUs.htm and see if they can set you up with some spots to hunt. Clubs can range from wide open to all comers to tightly held organizations that became a club to give themselves "presence" while remaining resistant to divulging their "double-super-top-secret" means and methods. I know nothing about this linked club, they were one of the more interesting entries returned on a Google seach for "savannah georgia metal detecting".

He doesn't get bested too often to hear Golddigger talk about it. If you get the chance take that boy with you. The good news would be that he's leaving your area after his vacation to ruin spots around me. :(

Thanks for the kind words Guv. Looks like nobody in GA is gonna reply though. . .I know I've seen a few posts over the years on here from folks who've dug stuff up near Savannah, but I don't know if they're even on the forum anymore. Been away too long I guess. It's all good though. I'll figure something out.
