Found this on the river bank outside of Hope BC. It is about the size of the palm of your hand.

I guess I'll make a comment or two. It's just a rock. Probably a conglomerate of sedimentary origin that has rolled around for so long it's got rounded. Typical of river banks. It would look nice back in the river bank. Not trying to be a smart a... but it's nothing of importance. But it's many of millions of years old so that's the nice part of it, but so are all the other rocks on earth.

Reminds me of something my Aunt (now deceased) referred to as an "Indian Paint Box". As a child, I would hunt for them with her on the Banks of the Ohio River in KY. She claimed the inner section, which was somewhat softer when wet and reddish/brown in color was used by native Americans to paint their faces/horses, etc. As I recall, the ones we fouund were somewhat smooth on the outter section. At 7 or 8 yrs, I was skeptical but too young to argue. Otherwise, I have no idea what it is.
